The Precious Moments Collectors' Convention opened May 18 in Hawaii. Pacific Business News reports more than 1,000 retailers and collectors are attending the annual event.
The big news this year, of course, is that Precious Moments Inc. now has the licensing and marketing rights after reaching a deal with Enesco earlier this week. The Joplin Globe reports that deal will add 40 to 50 more jobs at the Precious Moments complex in Carthage.
The Precious Moments Collectors Clubs, have 100,000 members and 150 licensees, including Hallmark. The collectibles are designed by artist and former Carthage resident Sam Butcher.
Butcher was scheduled to give more information about the future of the collectibles during the convention.
