The same company that as of earlier today owns The Carthage Press, the Neosho Daily News, and the Big Nickel, Fortress Investment Group of New York, may also soon own the publishing rights to all of the Beatles' and Michael Jackson's songs.
UPI reported last week that Fortress bought Jackson's $270 million worth of debt from Bank of America. If Jackson, who is reported to be nearly broke, ends up defaulting on his debt, he put up Mijac, which owns his song catalog, and his 50 percent stake in Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which owns the Beatles' songs.
