Arraignment set for former Jasper official

A 9:30 a.m. Monday arraignment is scheduled in Newton County Circuit Court for former Jasper city councilman Nicky Crews is charged with possession of child pornography and marijuana possession. Judge Tim Perigo will preside.
Crews is represented by Joplin attorney Juddson McPherson, who has been in the news recently as the lawyer for Brandie McLean, the Webb City woman whose child was shot to death while living in a foster home in Alba.
McPherson filed a motion Friday for a change of judge. Crews was arrested Feb. 3 at a Newton County truck stop.
