Butcher, Davis, Tommey reunited

Fascinating story in Thursday's Carthage Press about the return of Precious Moments creator Sam Butcher to the chapel he created in Carthage.
Press Managing Editor Ron Graber has done an excellent job over his 13-year career at the newspaper in continuing and expanding the cultural coverage of the city, which was so ably emphasized during the long tenures of former Press managing editors Neil Campbell and Marvin VanGilder.
Plus, Graber, who began his career as a photographer, relied on that talent to capture the pure joy felt by renowned artists Butcher, Lowell Davis, and Bob Tommey as they reunited. It may not be a piece that receives awards or gets people talking, but it is the type of coverage that has always set The Press a step ahead of other area newspapers.
