Gannett has good month

Strong advertising sales helped Gannett Co to a 3.2 percent increase its sales during May, according to an Associated Press article.
Gannett, which publishes the Springfield News-Leader, USA Today and more than 100 other newspapers had an increase in operating revenue from 593.1 million a year ago in May to $612 million this year, according to the article.
Advertising revenue, the article noted, increased 4.7 percent from $397.8 million to $416.4 million," offsetting the loss posted by Gannett's broadcasting division.
