Hance appears ready to plead guilty

Former Seneca police officer and McDonald County sheriff candidate Randy Hance is expected to plead guilty to weapons charges 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, in U. S. District Court in Springfield.
Hance is being held without bond after a federal judge determined he might harm his ex-wife, others, or himself.
Hance's attorney, Shawn Askinosie of Springfield, had indicated in earlier court filings that he was negotiating a plea agreement with the government.

Is this the same Randy Hance that attended East Newton High School in the mid-late 70's?

Why is there a big gap between the headline and the body of the story?

Yes, it is the same Randy Hance who attended East Newton. As for the big gap, I have contacted Blogger about it and I have been told it is a glitch and they will fix it, but that was a few days ago.

Why do news outlets continually mention the fact that Randy Hance was a police officer in Seneca? He was many years ago. What's so relevent about that one fact? I am sure there are several former police officers that have not done so well since leaving there former employer. So why beat that fact to death?
