Holman also faces assault charge

Micah J. Holman's hearing on a domestic assault charge, originally scheduled for today in Jasper County Circuit Court, had to be postponed until 1 p.m July 11. Holman had something come up.
Carthage police officers arrested him today on two charges of marijuana possession, and he has been labeled "a person of interest" in the double murders Friday of Marvin and Peggy Steverson of Carthage Whoever is charged in that case, will also likely be charged with arson, since police have indicated the Steversons' home was burned to the ground in an attempt to cover up the murders.
Holman's domestic assault charge stems from a Jan. 24, 2005, incident, according to court records. On that same date a full order of protection was issued against him, ordering him to stay away from Misty Pietrzak of Joplin. Court records indicate it was not the first time she had taken out a protection order against Holman.
An adult abuse with stalking complaint was filed against him by Ms. Pietrzak on Dec. 2, 2004. A full order of protection for one year was issued, but less than one month later, Ms. Pietrzak filed a motion to end the protection order. Seventeen days later, Holman was charged with assaulting her. Court records indicate they were living together at the time.
Holman also was convicted of theft charges in Jasper County on March 20, 2003, after pleading guilty to a Carthage theft that occurred on Jan. 18, 2003. He was sentenced to one year in the county jail, then placed on supervised probation for a year.
In addition to the Jasper County domestic assault charge, Holman also is currently facing stealing charges in Barton County, according to court records.
