Misdemeanor bad check charges have been filed against the Oronogo woman who recently was kicked out of the tax preparation business by a U. S. District Court judge.
Jasper County Circuit Court records indicate that Carrie Shafer, 37, was arrested July 6 on a check charge dating back to Sept. 24, 2004. No hearings have been scheduled in the case.
Judge Gary Fenner ordered Ms. Shafer out of the tax preparation business after she was charged by federal officials with preparing fraudulent income tax returns.
