Democrat coverage of O'Sullivan layoff anticipated

I will be interested in seeing how the Lamar Democrat handles coverage of the O'Sullivan Industries situation in its Saturday edition. Let's face it: The newspaper has not distinguished itself with its previous coverage of O'Sullivan, being content to serve as a conduit for company news releases.
I would think the Democrat would be happy to have some Lamar news, even bad news, after a Wednesday, July 6, newspaper which did not have a single Lamar story on page one. It did have two photos of a Barton County Chamber of Commerce event at the top of the page, but the rest of the page was devoted to a long story on the upcoming Golden Harvest Days in Golden City, an even longer story featuring blow-by-blow coverage of the Greenfield City Council meeting, and a news release from the Department of Revenue on the new driver's license requirements.
It might have helped if some effort had been made to localize the driver's license story, but as you might expect, that did not take place.
