Moark video receives statewide exposure

Associated Press has picked up on the story of the live chickens in the dumpster, an act that was videotaped over a two-day period by Rick Bussey, Neosho. The story hit the Kansas City Star this morning, as well as the Belleville, Ill., newspaper, some Kansas City area television stations, and it will undoubtedly be in many more morning newspapers.
I have talked several times in The Turner Report about the importance of the new media and again this story stresses that point. This time, it wasn't a blog like this one or a message board like Lamarmo.com or Neosho Forums that started the story, but one man, Rick Bussey, with a videorecorder.
What Bussey did, then went to more people through Neosho Forums, then through some publicity from this site, and eventually through the traditional media, the Neosho Daily News, the Joplin Globe, and the area television stations.
Now, it is making its way across the state.
That once again shows the increasing power of citizen journalism.
