Popcorn trial continues

The seventh day of the latest civil lawsuit trial involving Jasper Popcorn company workers will be held today before Judge William Carl Crawford in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Company owners International Flavors and Fragrances, Inc., and Bush Boake Allen, Inc., are being sued by Kenneth Moenning, 37, Lockwood, and his wife, Alisha Moenning, 32. Moenning is one of more than a dozen who have sued the companies alleging that chemicals used in flavoring at the plant caused them to have serious and, in some cases, life-threatening respiratory illnesses. So far, the companies have lost all but one case.
The trial is expected to last four week. Lawyers for the Moennings are still presenting their evidence, according to court records.
