RES to shut down for holiday weekend

The Carthage Press reports, in an article by Dennis Somers, that Renewable Environmental Services has agreed to have an outside contractor conduct an odor survey to find out just why the heck the place still smells.
If you remember, after months of neglect, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources suddenly became environmental watchdogs under pressure from Governor Matt Blunt and his father, Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt. Until the Blunts became involved, no one seemed to care that Carthage residents couldn't even breathe for the foul odor in their town.
RES agreed to shut down for the Carthage Senior High School graduation ceremony. Now company officials have agreed to do so again, which should help attract more people to the annual Fourth of July celebration Monday.
Carthage residents should not have to wait for special occasions to be able to breathe clean air. The government has given these clowns too many chances. Either they fix the problem immediately or get out of town.
Fortunately, I made my move out of Carthage just before these problems started occurring.
