Stacy Rector turns 25

All right. I know, I know.
Those of you who know former Carthage Press lifestyles editor Stacy Rector know that she turned 25 more than two weeks ago, on June 15 to be exact, but at that time I hadn't uncovered the column she wrote about it.
Stacy was a Carthage Senior High School student when she first began working at The Press, writing and editing Teen Tuesday, a section written for and about teens. Three other teenagers, Matthew Pyle, Kylene Moser, and Josey Ihm, worked on that section, but it belonged to Stacy from the word go.
One of her final Teen Tuesday features was on a young mother attending Carthage High School and the problems that faced her. Teen Tuesday received the Missouri Press Association's Community Service Award for the year 1998 and Stacy's feature took first place in the state (and I should add this was not a category for teen reporters, she was competing against seasoned professionals).
Stacy is also an excellent poet and will have a book of her poetry published later this year.
