Tennessee La-Z-Boy plant lays off 95

The La-Z-Boy plant in the Chattanooga, Tenn., area laid off 95 workers, effective this week, according to WTVC in Chattanooga. A company official said the layoffs were "temporary and seasonal, adding that the company has "experienced a downturn in production volume which is typical in the summer.
La-Z-Boy employs 2,200 at the Tennessee plant.
The company laid off 38 workers at its Neosho plant last week. Company Vice President John Kellogg told The Joplin Globe the workers may be brought back once the economic forecast improves.
