Area legislators vote to remove Internet restrictions

All six area legislators voted today to repeal a portion of a law that would have removed personal information about elected officials.
The misguided amendment would have likely resulted in the removal of much of the public records information currently on the net from Missouri. The vote was 144-1 with Ed Emery, R-Lamar, Steve Hunter, R-Joplin, Ron Richard, R-Joplin, Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin; Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City; and Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, voting for the repeal.
It now goes to the Senate.
