Forty-five years for Carolyn Taffner

A reader of this column (and longtime friend) points out to me that Carolyn Taffner, Lamar City Clerk, recently celebrated 45 years of working for the city. Mrs. Taffner was always courteous and helpful to me during the more than two decades that I covered Lamar, first for The Lamar Democrat and later for The Carthage Press.
What I can't understand is how she manages to look the same now as she did when I first covered Lamar in the summer of 1978. Congratulations, Carolyn!
