Joplin Tri-State Business Journal to start in April

The next chapter in the Joplin newspaper wars will begin April 10, according to a news release from the Springfield Business Journal, which is launching the new publication.
“We have been watching the Joplin market, and covering major business stories from it, for several years,” said Dianne Elizabeth Osis, publisher of Springfield Business Journal and Joplin Tri-State Business. “When approached by several Joplin area community leaders last summer about the possibility of publishing in the region, we realized the need, the growth potential and the timing were right," the news release said.
Hiring of local staff, including an editor, a reporter, an office administrator and a sales representative will be complete by mid-February, and resumes are now being accepted for all positions, the news release said.
Several center city Joplin sites are being considered for Joplin Tri-State Business headquarters, with plans to open the office in late February, according to the news release.
