Democrat's win examined by Post-Dispatch columnist

Veterinarian Charles Dake's win in the battle for the state representative seat formerly owned by Jack Goodman, R-Mount Vernon, is examined in a column by Jo Mannies of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Dake is one of only two Democrats, Sara Lampe of Springfield is the other, representing southwest Missouri in the House.

This was a vote for the man and not the party. This isn't a pro-Democrat or anti-Blunt vote. It is pro-Dake.

Dake is well-respected in Miller and northern Lawrence County. And, because his opponent was from Aurora, I suspect he also won in Mount Vernon.

Randy,
I agree with the fact that Mr. Dake was probabably chosen more for who is is rather than the party he runs on, as more people should be.

In addition, I was wondering if you noticed the story on Representitive Ed Emery crossing over the center line and hitting two other vehicles. It mentioned the wreck was being investigated but no mention as to what he would be charged with or ticketed. Are you up to investigating the balance of Government and whether he will be held accountable as any other citizen that causes injury to others on the highway?
