Fiscal conservative transgender Republican facing Blunt

All right, feel free to call me prejudiced, behind the times, or any other name you want to call me, but Roy Blunt is not going to be defeated by the type of candidate described in the headline to this story.
According to to an article in today's Springfield News-Leader, that is exactly the kind of candidate who has filed to face Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt in the GOP primary.
Mitchell Potts has been living as a woman for the past two years and is asking to have his/her female name "Midge" placed on the ballot.
Though the candidate appears to be more interested in traditional political issues, I am not anticipating that bedrock conservative southwest Missouri Republicans are going to abandon Roy Blunt in favor of anyone. And the Seventh District is not going to be electing transgender candidates at any time in the near future.

Isn't this Potts person the same on that is always getting thrown in jail for protesting in front of the WhiteHouse?

The thing is that Blunt isn't a "bedrock conservative southwest Missouri Republican" he is a cut-taxes and spend anyway sugar daddy.

Look at all the money the federal government is spending around here. It may look good at first glance, but who is paying for it?

Record deficits are funding these pork projects. A bedrock conservative would insist that the government have either a balanced budget or managable debt. Republicans, like the Democrats, just want to open the purse to please their friends and increase their power.

Why so dismissive of Midge? I know her and I'm proud to consider her a friend. She is a passionate activist who will truly represent her district. She holds many traditional Repulican values, as well as a few more progressive ones. She is getting great media coverage so don't count her out!

And think about these two facts: Misouri has an open primary system, and Midge is attracting independents and dems. And secondly, Roy Blunt is directly tied to criminal Jack Abramoff.
