Skelton criticizes House Iraq resolution

Fourth District Congressman Ike Skelton the ranking Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, is among those criticizing a House resolution on Iraq sponsored by Majority Leader John Boehner.
The resolution supports the troops in Iraq, something with which Skelton has no problem, but it also equates the Iraq mission with the war on terrorism, something which Skelton says is not clear at all.
Skelton sent a letter to Boehner Monday, in which he said, "I think you well understand that the war in Iraq is a separate conflict, an insurgency with terrorist elements and sectarian violence. We promised and owe the American people a focused and dedicated debate about our policy and the future of American commitment in Iraq."
