State audit reveals problems in privatizing license fee offices

Nothing unexpected emerged when State Auditor Claire McCaskill released the state audit of the license bureau privatization today.
The Democrats will find it showed unethical, if not criminal activity, by Republicans. The Republicans will claim it is nothing Democrats haven't done before or that the problems are being exaggerated.
On the same day that the audit was being released, Department of Revenue Director Trish Vincent issued a news release revealing how smoothly the transition from state-operated to privately-operated license fee bureaus went.
Interestingly enough, a link to Ms. Vincent's news release is placed prominently on the Missouri State Government website homepage, while there is no mention of the state audit.

A cool mill in cash for the cronies of the Gov runnning the Spfld license office. Great. I am sure they need it. At least we won't be wasting the money paid by taxpayers to license their cars on something like medicaid coverage for children, the disabled or the elderly (or road repair?). What a high moral standard the boy gov has establised for us. Glad all those preachers talked us in to voting for him. I hear the Spfld schools wanted to run the office (some school districts did under Carnahan and Holden) but that the boy gov gave the office contract to his dad's political fundraiser instead. Another example of his level of support for education.
