GateHouse Media, owner of The Joplin Daily, Carthage Press, Neosho Daily News, and Big Nickel, and Gannett Co. owner of the Springfield News-Leader, have been named as possible buyers for the Messenger Post newspaper chain in New York.
The chain includes one daily newspaper,the Canandaigua Daily Messenger, and 10 weeklies.
