KOAM, KFJX websites include election results

Strong websites are important for local television operations since they can help build an identification with the news product. People who failed to catch last night's election results when they were broadcast can find them by going to the KOAM or Fox 14 websites.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said for KODE and KSNF. KODE had a marked advantage over other stations during the evening hours by running the results on the crawl, the only local station I saw doing that.
When that crawl vanished, those who missed the evening news or programming because they were at work, or weren't home for some other reason, should be able to find the results on local news websites.
Besides KOAM and KFJX, the Joplin Globe and Joplin Daily websites each had the information. The Globe was also quick with sending out e-mail alerts on Jasper County races.
In this age, when media outlets have more than one method of reaching the audience, they need to take advantage of all of them. The Globe, the Daily, KOAM, and KFJX successfully did that Tuesday night.
