The number of listeners was down slightly at KTTS-FM in Springfield during the spring Arbitron ratings, but not enough to allow any other station to approach the news and country music station that has topped the market for years.
KTTS had a 13.6 rating, down from 16.9 in fall 2005, to far outdistance number two KGBX, 105.9, which plays adult contemporary music. KGBX's listenership dropped from 7.7 to 7.4, but that still enabled the station to climb from number three to number two.
The biggest gain, 3.3 from 2.7 to 6.0, was recorded by KQRA, 102.1, alternative music, which leapfrogged from 11th to fifth. The biggest drop was KTTS' 3.3.
Other stations which picked up a substantial number of listeners in the latest ratings were: KOMG, 92.9 classic country, 5.1 to 7.2, fifth to third; KKLH, 104.7, classic rock, 1.7 to 4.3, 14th to seventh; KSGF, 104.1, newstalk, 1.9 to 4.1, 13th to eighth; and KZRQ, 106.7, Mount Vernon, active rock, 1.4 to 3.6, 15th to 13th.

Someone please tell me why? Also some sort of award that they brag about for excellence in programming or something...
It seems they only play older songs and I could swear they regularly play the same set of songs 3 or 4 times over an 8 hour period. I like the Eagles, but come on, Hotel California (rock oldie goldie) on a country station?
