Thomas builds 10,000 vote lead over Jackson

Election results from the Missouri secretary of state's office show Platte County Auditor Sandra Thomas has increased her lead in the Republican race for state auditor.
Ms. Thomas, who has trumpeted her background as a CPA at every turn, has built a 10,000 plus margin over her nearest competitor, Col. Jack Jackson. Ms. Thomas has 63,900 votes to 53,372 for Jackson, 48,899 for Sen. John Loudon, 28,591 for Rep. Mark Wright, and 10,284 for 2002 nominee Al Hanson.

Thomas won in Newton County by 591 votes over Jackson.
