Where are the anchors?

Election night, even in an off-year, should be a night when local television stations can fill their newscasts with actual content for a change. While the reports on all three stations at 5 and 6 p.m. were solid, only KODE had its main anchor team on duty.
Brian Hamman and Tara Brown were manning the anchor desk for KODE, which also has been the only station I have seen continuously updating election results on the crawl at the bottom of the screen. (Now this is the kind of information the crawl should be used for.)
On KSNF, Jim Jackson was there; Tiffany Alaniz was gone, replaced by the capable Lauren Hieger. At KOAM, Rhonda Justice was flying solo, while Dowe Quick had the night off.
Obviously, it does not take two main anchors to get us through an election, but it sends a message when the stations have their A-list personnel on duty during important events. And in this country, a primary election is an important event.
On the other hand, Ms. Alaniz' absence did allow us to stick with the news at 5 p.m. without any doses of celebrity gossip.

Gosh do you have a BIG problem with her or what!! I like her she gives a not so serious point of view. It is young and fresh imo.

If people want to hear about celebrity gossip, they should watch Entertainment Tonight or Extra. When you only have 22 minutes or so for news, weather, and sports (less eight minutes for commercials) the use of valuable time for such nonsense is a disgrace.

I think we as a society need to losen up a bit. I think that is what she brings to the news. I believe life is so serious and sometimes you need to take time to be silly and goffy and just laugh. Smile once in a while it will make you feel better. And plus the 5 news is more about entertainment than the regular news program at 6 and 10.

I agree with the previous two people. You obviously have a grudge against Tiffany, and it seems with every comment about KSN you take a pot shot at her or her broadcast. We get it, you hate the 5pm newscast, move on!

What do Randy and Mike Pound have in common? They always return to the same tired material.

Judging by the ratings, Randy is not alone in his review of KSN's five o'clock news. Leave the Hollywood stuff in California..or if you must do it here, save it for the end of the show.

Some people can only see the news at 5:00 and not be available for the 6:00 p.m. newscast. We don't need silly giggles and stupid jokes from wanna be comedians wasting our time. They are a disgrace to the station. IF you want untalented watch Gary and Tiffany at 5. However, if you want real class and professionalism watch another station. Tiffany, Gary and even Brad Douglas need to disappear!

It seems funny to me that people would get on here and complain so much about the KSN 5 show. If you have such a problem with it then turn it over to a different station. Obviously you have nothing better to do than complain. And one more point you would have no idea of what they were doing if you simply turned the station. Ending note turn the station and stay off of there backs. They are the best imo!!!

Personally, I just can't get enough of the insight and gravitas that Tiffany brings to the news. In fact, I've taken to eavesdropping on the mindless babblings of pre-adolescent girls'cell phone conversations. Oh MY GAWD...It's almost as HOT!
