Court date set for KY3 reporters

While actual crimes are taking place in Henry County, officials there are still planning to prosecute two KY3 reporters who were simply doing their jobs.
The court date for Sara Sheffield, pictured, and former Missouri Southern State University student Cliff Erwin has been scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5. The two are charged with failing to obey a reasonable direction of the Highway Patrol while they were doing a live remote from the collapse of the Elks Building in Clinton.
The Society of Professional Journalists has protested the arrest and prosecution of the reporters as you can see from this letter that was printed in the Aug. 20 Turner Report.

That shows the stupidy of the Highway Patrol. If these people are prosecuted I hope they never do another damn interview with the Whining Highway Patrol. Hell with them.

There are enough real crimes to take care of without law enforcement and the judicial system making it difficult for reporters trying to keep the public informed. We have the more people in jails per capita than any other industrializeed nation, and one of the most costly penal systems. The courts are clogged with cases without creating "crimes" where non exist.
