Five-day trial anticipated in Missouri State wrongful termination case

A trial date sometime around Aug. 1, 2007, is expected for the wrongful dismissal lawsuit filed by former Missouri State University professor George Cron against the university's Board of Governors and the committee which failed to recommend him for tenure, according to documents filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Cron claims he was targeted after he rejected the sexual advances of MSU dance professor Rhythm McCarthy, who was the head of the selection committee which hired him to teach drama at the university.
An Aug. 29 mediation session between Cron and the targets of his lawsuit was unsuccessful, according to court documents.
More information about the lawsuit can be found in the Sept. 8 Turner Report.
