Globe promotes Stark, Ostmeyer

The Joplin Globe announced earlier today it was promoting Metro Editor Carol Stark, a 24-year Globe veteran to the editor position vacated by the resignation of Edgar Simpson.
Veteran Globe reporter/editor Andy Ostmeyer has been promoted to the metro editor position, according to the announcement.
This is a welcome move by CNHI, and good news for the Joplin area, since the last thing we need is another editor from out of state. Good luck to Mrs. Stark and Ostmeyer.

I'm sure that they are both deserving, but this news doesn't get me very excited. It's just going to be more of the same at the ol' Joplin Globe. I was hoping the paper would get a shot in the arm with some new blood.

In reality, this was a cost-saving move by CNHI. Carol won't make the same salary that Ed was, and they effectively have eliminated an entire position.

Andy needs to shave the chin pubes, it makes his head look like an upside down bowling pin.
