Prosecutor asks for change of judge in Memorial Middle School shooting case

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office has asked for a change of judge in the Memorial Middle School shooting case, according to Jasper County Circuit Court records.
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Nate Dally filed the request for a change of judge today. If it is granted, it will be the second. Late last week, at the request of Gregory Thomas White's attorney, Brett Meeker, Judge Richard Copeland was disqualified and Judge Joseph Schoeberl was appointed to the case.
The preliminary hearing for White, 14, formerly a seventh grader at Memorial, is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17.
