Kraske: Blunt is 'flipping, floundering, flailing'

In today's Kansas City Star, political columnist Steve Kraske points out the difficulties faced by Governor Matt Blunt, describing his term as "flipping, floundering, flailing."

As evidence of this, Kraske cites the controversy surrounding the sexual harassment charges and subsequent firing of Agriculture Director Fred Ferrell, and the governor's inability, despite having majorities in both houses, to get his voucher legislation or his MOHELA plan pushed through:

How bad is it? After the last couple of weeks, even leading Republicans are linking Blunt with — horror of horrors — Bob Holden, whose single term as a Democratic governor culminated in a first-ever primary defeat to Claire McCaskill.

Kraske also notes:

Nevertheless, after a recent slight rise in the polls, Blunt is crashing anew. This is so ugly that members of his own party have begun questioning whether this guy has a political future.

(not very long or reflective pause) ...Oh well, there's always lobbying.
