Nodler focus of latest "wingnut" post

The Ozarks Politics blog ended its week of looking at what it terms "wingnuts" in the Missouri State Senate by focusing on Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin. The post is similar to my old favorite WHB 40 Star Survey in that it plays all of our senator's greatest hits back to back, including:

Our favorite Nodler story was last summer's movie melee. Seems the Senator doesn't have much patience for the disabled. Nodler went into a tizzy over the noise a group of developmentally disabled folks were making. He even got into an altercation with the groups caregiver. The best part of the story is that he apparently went to the trouble of getting a refund for a movie he saw for free!

Maybe Nodler should wait for movies to come out on pay-per-view. We're sure he can get a deal on that.

That episode was the final straw for me. That he was so condescending and rude towards the disabled and their staff AND got into the movie for free and then he wanted a REFUND to see it another time. What a crock.

Nodler was never rude to the disabled, He took and passed a lie detector proving it and his accuser refused the test, this is a lie that keeps being repeated, he also never requested a refund for his ticket, he exchanged the ticket for a ticket for a later showing. These repeated lies from Amanda Richardson's mother are pretty funny! We voted on Nodler, he won and his critics were rejected, get over it!

He may not have believed that he was rude, but he definitely was horribly. He hurt their feelings tremendously and never apologized for it. I was there.

Wow! How nice that he got a FREE ticket and threw a fit and got another FREE ticket.

Just because he is elected doesn't mean that he is a respected or respectable state rep. You get over it.

If you claim that you were there and you claim Nodler was rude, you are a liar, He proved he was truthful by passing the test. I actually was there and when Nodler left the group continued to be unbeleivably noisy and I left myself later. When you say you were there and Nodler was rude, I know you are a liar, because I really was there and he was not rude! But you see, this was all hashed out and the voters already rejected these lies, so give it up!

I don't understand why I am always wrong and you are always right? You always write that I am the liar but I am not, in my view you are. MY INTERPRETATION of the events at the movie theater is that Nodler was in the wrong. I don't care about a lie detector test, I saw it with my eyes and I DECIDED FOR ME that he was in the WRONG. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW AND FEELS THE SAME WAY.

A little test for you. Where did this event take place? The front of the theater? The back? The main lobby? How may people were present? I know because I was there. You don't because you were not, unless you are Amanda in which case you are the one that refused the test so you are not credible. You are a character assassin, you are wrong because you repeat unsubstantiated allegations that were never proven and because those of us that were there know it is not true! Besides it isn't me that decides you are wrong the voters did that.

Amanda Richardson. she is the young woman that parked her van in front of the weelchair ramp at the main entrance to Northpark Mall and when Mr. Pendergaft asked her to move it so he could get out in his weelchair, she said "f--- you" I will move it when I am ready, She is sure interested in the handicapped what a joke!

jeez. really ruffled a lot of feathers here, Turner.
I always believe perception is reality. The perception is Nodler doesn't have a clue as to what is going on. But he is against collective bargaining for public employees so that makes him a good senator.

I think the Nodler lover is Nodler's brother. That is how he knows all the "intimate" details and that is who was with him at the movies. Nodler must be desperate to have family blog on the Turner Report. I think it is very funny, and I do get a kick out of ruffling his feathers!

I work in law enforcement, and a lie detector test is only as good as the qualified person who performed the test, as well as the qualifications of the person who gave the test. Who was the technician? What was the name of the instrument? I didn't know about any lie detector test that was given. I would be interested in the factual information though.

According to the original Globe story, Donnie O. Smith of Rolla Missouri gave Nodler the lie detector test and concluded that Nodler was truthful when he said he never asked any disabled people to leave a movie theater. Nodler said he only complained to the manager about Amanda Richardson’s use of the “f” word in front of patrons including her disabled clients. Smith concluded that Nodler was truthful. None of these news stories indicated the brand of the machine used for the test, but Smith did say that it was the one he used for court cases. Amanda Richardson was asked to take the test as well. Ms. Richardson refused the test. Donnie Smith is a retired Highway patrol officer who gave the test for the patrol for years. The patrol indicated that they consider him the leading examiner in the state and that he still does contract work for them as well as many other law enforcement agencies. The Globe story covered much of this but all of this information is available from news accounts from various sources at the time. There was never really any question about it, Nodler was truthful and Ms. Richardson was not. Nodler’s political enemies kept repeating the lies and continue to this very day. Fortunately voters rejected these lies.
