Decision on Memorial Middle School shooter's status delayed

Following a hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court this morning, Judge David Mouton delayed a decision on whether to remand Memorial Middle School shooter Thomas Gregory White, 14, to juvenile court.
Those recommending that White, who was 13 when he fired a gun into the ceiling at the school and allegedly attempted to kill Principal Steve Gilbreth, will have until the 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 20, hearing to do so.
Court records on case.net indicate another letter supporting White, from Catherine A. Hogan, a psychotherapist, has been entered into the case file.
White is charged with two counts of assault, and one count apiece of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and attempted escape.
