Kratky picks up more gifts from real estate lobbyists

Documents posted today on the Missouri Ethics Commission website indicate Rep. Frad Kratky, D-St. Louis, who has submitted his resignation to Governor Matt Blunt so he can accept an executive position with the St. Louis Association of Realtors, accepted more than $300 worth of meals from Missouri Association of Realtors lobbyist Samuel Licklider in May.
In a post Saturday on The Turner Report, I noted that Kratky has recommended that his wife, Michele, who signed on as a lobbyist for the St. Louis Association of Realtors on Jan. 3, replaced him in the House, and with Kratky holding a position on the local Democratic Committee, there is a strong likelihood that will happen.
During the 2007 legislative session, Kratky signed on to bills sponsored by Republican House members Dennis Wood, R-Kimberling City, and Jason Smith, R-Salem, that would benefit real estate interests.
The latest Ethics Commission documents show Kratky accepting an $8.292 meal from Licklider on May 3, and another for $251.90 on May 18. This makes six meals, with a total value of $586.96, accepted by Kratky from Licklider in 2007.
And now he wants to turn his seat in the legislature over to a real estate lobbyist?
