Venue change requested in Micronesian church murders

The attorney for Eiken Elam Saimon, the man accused of murdering three Micronesian church deacons during an afternoon worship service Aug. 12, has filed a request for a change of venue.
The motion was filed Wednesday by attorney Darren Wallace, according to Newton County Circuit Court records. Saimon faces nine felony charges, including three first degree murder charges.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29.
