An article in today's Washington Post indicates No Child Left Behind, which was scheduled to be reauthorized this year, is likely to be held over to become a major part of next year's presidential and congressional races.
Toward the end of the article, Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt indicates how he feels about No Child Left Behind:

"But I did vote for it on the basis that maybe he was right and this was his big domestic initiative and let's give him a chance. But all my concerns . . . have proven to be justified."
