Dec. 8 signing set for Turner Report book

The next signing for The Turner Report, my first non-fiction effort, has been scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Hastings Books, Music, and Video in Joplin.
Copies of the book should be available in the store by this time next week.
More information will be provided later on this blog.
The book features background information on some of the stories I covered during my time at The Carthage Press and Lamar Democrat, including the 1992 governor's race with Bill Webster, Roy Blunt, and Mel Carnahan, the Nancy Cruzan case, the murder of eight-year-old Doug Ringler in Carthage, the Oklahoma Turnpike killing of Sheila Mayfield of Jasper, and Lamar con artist Patrick Graham.
The Turner Report book also features some of the reporting this blog's readers have followed for the past few years, including the influence lobbyists have on our state legislators, the push for educational vouchers in Missouri, and the special interests behind the Blunt family, with new information provided on many of these stories.
In addition, the book features never-before published investigations of the Joplin-area legislator who made a concerted effort to derail group home legislation...after the Anderson Guest House fire (with considerable background on that case provided, as well), and the connection between the state of Missouri's new virtual schools and the educational voucher movement.
