Barbre could become first East Newton grad to play in Super Bowl

Green Bay Packer guard Allen Barbre could become the first East Newton High School graduate to play in the Super Bowl, but for that to take place the Packers will have to overcome a 13-10 third quarter lead in the NFC championship game.
The Packers, thanks to a 90-yard pass play from Brett Favre to veteran wide receiver Donald Driver grabbed a 7-6 lead, then added a field goal, but the Giants just took the lead with 7:56 left in the third period.
A good kickoff return has given the Packers excellent field position.

Barbre, of course, is also a graduate of Missouri Southern State University, which has seen stellar play from another graduate, Rod Smith, in two Super Bowl victories for the Denver Broncos.
