The Neosho Daily News is one of seven finalists for GateHouse Media's Newspaper of the Year award. The judging will be done at the University of Missouri and the winner will be announced sometime in the next few weeks.
The Daily is a finalist in the category of daily newspapers with under 15,000 circulation, and is the smallest newspaper to make the cut. Other finalists include the Independence Examiner from Missouri, and newspapers from Pekin, Ill.; Telluride, Colo.; Canandalgua, N. Y.; Dodge City, Kan.; and Massillon, Ohio.
The Daily staff also earned the "Champion" award for Team Project of the Year in the Best of Gatehouse 2007 competition.
