Nodler wouldn't mind being governor some day

You have to hand it to Missouri Southern State University student Alexandra Nicolas. In her first missive reporting from Jefferson City for the Joplin Globe, she has latched onto some meaty political news.
In gauging reaction to the announcement that Gov. Matt Blunt will not seek a second term, she puts Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, on record as saying that he wouldn't mind being in the governor's mansion someday and that he has been approached to run for statewide office.
It is a strong start for Miss Nicolas, an editor on MSSU's newspaper, The Chart, whose main job in Jefferson City will be to provide state news for that publication:

Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, said he had been approached about running for a number of different offices “down the hall from the governor.”

“I wouldn’t mind being the governor of the state of Missouri at some point, but I would not identify myself as one of the five Republican candidates most likely to win the general election this year,” he said. “I’m not a candidate for governor this year, while other offices are potentially worth considering, I just don’t see that as a realistic possibility.”
