Emery, Stevenson tap into Sinquefield motherlode

It doesn't show on their April disclosure forms, but Rep. Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City and Rep. Ed Emery, R-Lamar, have added to their campaign accounts by accepting donations from billionaire educational voucher supporter Rex Sinquefield.

I will provide more information in a later post, but Missouri Ethics Commission documents indicate that some of the political action committees formed by Sinquefield to enable him to contribute more than the maximum to favored candidates donated to Emery on March 30 and 31, but the contributions were not processed in time to appear on this report.

Stevenson's contributions from Sinquefield committees came on March 24, the disclosure documents indicate. During the time in early 2007 when campaign contribution limits were removed, Stevenson accepted a $7,500 contribution from Sinquefield. The contribution was returned following the Missouri Supreme Court decision in July that the law was unconstitutional.

Hail, hail, the witch is dead, the witch dead, the witch is dead. Hail, hail the wicked witch is dead.

The Turner Report has been totally ineffective in stopping citizens from expressing their consitutional right to freedom of speech and in its attempt to harass legislators.

To be truthful, the wicked witch never had any power anyway. Randy, er, I mean the wicked witch just thought that was the case.

heh heh heh

Excuse me anonymous, but it does appear that Randy is using his constitutional right to freedom of speech with his blog. Furthermore, if reporting items which ordinary citizens are unaware of and sadly, the regular media do not report is harassing I, for one, have to seriously wonder what planet you're from.

You might be surprised 'anonymous' how many people across this state read The Turner Report regularly and rely on it's accurate and thought provoking commentary and facts.

Sorry to burst your bubble anonymous. By the way, many of us have the courage to use our own names and have no need to hide. In a democracy such as ours, it is every citizens right to express their views without fear. Americans who believe in our constitution may not agree with your views, but we would defend to our deaths your right to express them.

I used Hail Hail on purpose as a celebration - so don't post stupid stuff when you don't know what you are talking about.

Barbara, I am aware that many people look at the Turner Report every day. You are beyond belief when you say this blog is accurate and that is why people read it.

Just the opposite, many read it to see what the buffoon is bitching about today. The Turner Report has had no impact on anything except making people laugh...at him.

My freedom of speech to remain anonymous. Nothing to do with courage but just because I can.
