Nodler soaks up Sinquefield cash
April finance disclosure forms, posted today on the Missouri Ethics Commission website show Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, received $9,750 from political action committees established by retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield.
Nodler received maximum contributions from Missourians Supporting Teaching Excellence for five regions- North, South, East, West, and Bootheel, and from 11 Your School, Your Choice committees- Central, Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, Southwest, West, Statewide, South, East, and North.
A report issued last week before the filing indicated Nodler had already accepted more than $6,000 from Sinquefield, the most prominent supporter of educational vouchers in the state, during this election cycle.
The $9,750 collected from Sinquefield this time accounted for more than three-fourths of Nodler's contributions. The disclosure form showed Nodler received $11,575. Besides Sinquefield, all of Nodler's contributions came from out-of-state interests, including $1,000 from James Hetenbreit, CEO of Bartlett and Company, Mission Hills, Kan., $250 from Thomas Turner, Mission Hill, Kan., and $575 from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Ridgefield, Conn.
