Former Collins mayor asks for continuance in Internet sex case

Powerhouse defense attorney Dee Wampler of Springfield is asking for a continuance in the case against former Collins Mayor Allen Kauffman, who is charged with three counts of enticement of a child in connection with one of Diamond Police Officer Jim Murray's internet sex stings.
Kauffman, 62, who is also a minister, resigned as mayor shortly after his arrest. His next hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 12.
