Richard: No more village laws

In an article in today's Springfield News-Leader, Speaker-in-waiting Ron Richard, R-Joplin, makes it clear he has no use for the kind of secret amendment that was used to pass the Village Law during the 2006 legislative session:

"There needs to be a trail where amendments come from so bill sponsors can track that," Richard said. "Unsigned or unnamed amendments are not in the taxpayers' best interests."

Chad Livengood's article gives s detailed background on the village law dispute.
