Hulshof lead up to six percent; Koster holds steady lead

With approximately 45 percent of the vote counted, Kenny Hulshof now leads Sarah Steelman 49.7 to 43.7 percent. It's beginning to look more and more like Hulshof may square off with Jay Nixon in November. However, most of the Kansas City area is still out and early returns there have Mrs. Steelman doubling Hulshof's votes.

Several Southwest Missouri counties also remain uncounted, including Polk, McDonald, Stone, Barry, and Taney, and those could be in the Steelman corner.

In the Democratic attorney general race, Chris Koster, despite substantive complaints about illegal fundraising tactics, has a seven percent lead over Margaret Donnelly and nearly 10 percent over Jeff Harris. The sticking point for Koster is the St. Louis area. Few precincts have reported there (no surprise) and that could provide the impetus for a Donnelly comeback.

In the Democratic state treasurer race, Mark Powell holds a seven percent lead over Clint Zweifel.

Congrats GOP. We've just nominated another Blunt clone for governor. Jay Nixon will clean this guy's clock. Who knows what sort of crap we'll have to put up with for the next four years.

How long will it be until this state gets a decent governor?
