In-person coverage gives News-Leader readers better view of GOP Convention

Reporter Chad Livengood's work at the Republican National Convention has helped Springfield News-Leader readers have a better Missouri perspective on this national event:

Travis Elliott, a Springfield attorney and delegate, was encouraged by Lieberman's bipartisan approach.

"It's encouraging to see Democrats who are willing to cross the aisle and support John McCain," Elliott said.

Elliott said Bush's kind words about his former political rival were "heartfelt and sincere."

If Bush had delivered the speech in person, Elliott said, it would been even more powerful
.

Livengood is also offering observations on his convention blog.

Too bad Travis Elliott appear unaware that Lieberman is no longer a Democrat but now considers himself an Independent, one who came close to being tabbed as McCain's VP.
