Public defender asks cameras to be excluded in hearings for accused double-murderer

In a motion filed today in Vernon County Circuit Court, public defender Joe Zuzul objected to a media request to have cameras at hearings for his client, accused double-murderer Garrett Mason, 17, Nevada.

Cameras were excluded from Mason's arraignment because he did not have an attorney at that time.

A motions hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday on Zuzul's request for a continuance. A pre-trial conference is set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11.

Mason is charged with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the May 25 stabbing deaths of teens Anne Reed, 18, and Kylie Leyva, 14,
