In his weekly commentary on KBIA radio, former Columbia Tribune political reporter Jason Rosenbaum questions whether Ron Richard will break the pattern of speakers of the house who have not had any luck parlaying that position into higher office, including Steve Gaw, Catherine Hanaway, and Bob Griffin (who, of course, wound up in prison).

Jim Kreider was a speaker who ran for state senate and lost to Dan Clemens.
Kreider landed a better gig with the MRTA.
