Koster: News-Leader should be able to see surveillance tapes

Attorney General Chris Koster has come down on the Springfield News-Leader's side in the battle over surveillance tapes from Gov. Jay Nixon's office. News-Leader political reporter Chad Livengood requested the tapes as part of his probe into when or if Nixon knew about the e. coli problem in the Lake of the Ozarks. An article posted earlier on the News-Leader site said the capital police rejected the request because of "terrorism concerns":

“It seems that there probably is some middle ground where the concerns of the Capitol Police and the importance of open government can be achieved,” Koster told reporters after a news conference he held this morning in Springfield.
