Review set for Newton County pastor in sex case

The only remaining defendant in a series of sex cases brought against members of churches in Newton and McDonald Counties will have his case reviewed Dec. 22 in Vernon County Circuit Court, according to KY3.

George Otis Johnston is charged with numerous counts of child molestation and statutory sodomy, according to court records. Johnston is the pastor of Grandview Valley Baptist Church North, and is the uncle of Raymond Lambert, pastor of the Grand Valley Independent Baptist Church. Lambert, his wife Patty and her brothers Tom and Paul Epling, as well as Tom Epling's wife, Laura, were charged with numerous sex crimes with minors in McDonald County, but all charges were dropped by Prosecuting Attorney Jancie Durban.
